Site Evaluation
One of the first steps in
working with many of our clients is to do a
complete site evaluation. You want a site that
is easy to navigate, resulting in a high degree
of order completion.
As part of our site evaluation, we can
advise you on the suitability of your web site
and make a list of recommended changes.
Two examples of items often found on
sites are:
- Bad URLs – The URL, which is the
address for each of the pages of your site,
are may not be robot friendly.
Most good shopping carts enable you
to select what is called flat URLs, which
are more search engine friendly.
An example of a bad page URL is:
https://www.mysite.com/index.php?page=view_album&album=414
A flat URL for this same page would
be:
https://www.mysite.com/Catalog/Scooters.html
- Speed and Bandwidth – These factors determine
how quickly your web site displays and how
much traffic it can handle.
Many hosting packages
are designed for Information only
sites.
E-Commerce Web sites typically
require a more robust hosting package to
accommodate the product graphics and user
traffic.
